OUR PROGRAMS
At the Poor Patients Aid Society (PPAS), we are dedicated to providing essential healthcare services to the most vulnerable members of society. Through our various programs, we strive to address the healthcare needs of mothers, children, senior citizens, and patients with specific medical conditions, ensuring they receive the care they deserve, free of cost.
Free Medicines Distribution
One of our primary programs focuses on providing free-of-cost medicines to mothers, children, and senior citizen patients visiting Civil Hospital Karachi. Every day, a large queue forms at the office of the Poor Patients Aid Society, where individuals can access essential medications necessary for their well-being.
Hepatitis Program
Hepatitis is a silent killer affecting a significant portion of the Pakistani population. PPAS is committed to combating this disease by providing free medicines and diagnostics to over 1000 registered hepatitis patients monthly. Patients from low-income backgrounds rely on PPAS for free or subsidized-rate medications, ensuring they can manage their condition effectively.
CT and MRI Scans
Patients with neurological and other health issues often require CT and MRI scans for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. However, access to these scans can be limited, especially for patients visiting Civil Hospital Karachi. PPAS bridges this gap by providing free scans from private labs outside the hospital. This ensures timely access to crucial diagnostic tests, allowing patients to receive the care they need without delays.
Plasmapheresis
Patients with neurological disorders may require plasmapheresis, a specialized procedure not readily available at Civil Hospital Karachi. PPAS steps in to provide this vital service to patients in the Neuro ICU by outsourcing the procedure to qualified consultants. This ensures that patients receive comprehensive care, addressing their specific medical needs even when specialized treatments are not available within the hospital.
At PPAS, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right for every individual, regardless of their financial status. Through our programs, we strive to make this belief a reality by providing essential medical services to those who need it most, ensuring a healthier and more equitable society for all.
